This out to be a quickie since we didn't do much today. As a matter of fact, I could have done even less. We woke up and got ready to head out. The plan was to visit Chris' friend Sandra who lives about 15 minutes away. She and her husband spend about 4 months a year here - and in the summer, her family comes for a few weeks. She lives down in Melissi and has a really nice beach right across the street from her house. We got there around 11 and got on the beach - the water was perfect, clear and had plenty of opportunities for the three little ones to explore rocks and find crabs and shrimp and whatever else they say the caught.
When everyone had had enough, we went a little further down the road to grab some lunch - there were a few minor challenges with the ordering, even though Sandra spoke Greek - but the food was good and Glenn even tried an olive.
There were some minor crashouts while we tried to get people to relax during the ordering and waiting for the food but once the eating was done, two people headed off to go and swim with the jellyfish - and there were a ton but thankfully, they were not the ones that sting you.
When lunch was over, I headed back with my car and Jess dropped Sandra off to her house. While they were there, they headed over to a bakery to get a cake for Duncan - his last night as an 8 year old cake - with another soon to be on it's way tomorrow for the big birthday celebration in Athens.
We got back - I took a shower and then a nap. Apparently during nap, there has been some sort of electrical issue - and we have been without AC. In the middle of writing this, the owner came to show us how to fix it - on the street. Jess answered the door but he preferred to show one of the men, so she got Glenn and I (LOL). So now, we are sitting here and Jess is trying to figure out what to do for Duncan's birthday - like some presents because it is not easy to bring this stuff with us.
And the sunset...
On to Athens and Duncan's Birthday tomorrow!
