A walk and then another walk: Athens Day 21

The days just keep getting lazier.  We really took our time getting ready to leave today.  We didn't have any concrete plans and that got us leaving the apartment around 12.  During the exit, the kids got yelled at by some lady who lives here because they were in the elevator.  "It is forbidden!"  Ok Medusa, take it easy.  They said they didn't do anything but apparently later in the day Jess got the story of whatever it is that they were doing.

The walk started out with a view of this piece of "art" in a gallery about 2 buildings down from our apartment.  The are obsessed with the phallus here.  It's dick all day.  Dick, dick, dick.  The sex manual/dishes/anything they can put it on of sexual positions, guys on guys, women, straight, threesomes...it's all Malcolm can talk about.

Jess found a little tour of some spots around the city and that is what we headed out to do.  We went past some of the spots that we went last night and then went for a stroll around (I think both) the Roman and the Ancient Agora where the regular people conducted their business.

Temple of Hephaestus - one of my favorite buildings here.  It's in like every textbook you have ever had when they talk about Greek democracy.  It is positioned about the Ancient Agora and the Stoa of Attalos (another cool building).

After splitting up for a bit - they wanted to hit some shops and Neil and I wanted to see more stuff we met up down near the Stoa and Hadrian's Library.  We found them and then decided to head back to get food.  I was dying - had a weird stomach pain and was just too hot.  When we got in, there was this on our door...

I thought it was the old lady they were fighting with - but when we told the owner she said there are kids upstairs who think that it is funny and she apologized.  I'd get a camera and beat their asses.  Luckily for her, Chris was able to muscle most of it off.  In the evening...we headed to Lycabettus Hill.  I do not remember going here with Jess and I am not sure how we would have missed it when we were here but apparently we did.  Right outside our place is a sex shop.  I told Malcolm I was getting him the gimp mask - he wants to know what it does.

Emperor Duncan looking a little confused at the wares of the shop.

And then there's Malcolm...

We spent a few minutes watching the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier perform their ritualized stepping routine.

Random Roman baths that were discovered when they were trying to excavate for the subway.  And lastly, Hadrian's Arch which was build for the emperor's visit to Athens.  Somewhere in there was ice cream and lot's of dogs being pet.

Some random columns to complete the evening.
